The ACLS Provider Update course is designed for healthcare professionals who direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies.

This includes:

• Emergency response personnel

• Emergency department staff

• ICU and critical care providers

• Physicians

• EMS professionals

• Healthcare students enrolled in accredited programs

• Dentists, Dental Assistants, and Dental Hygienists

• EMTs and Paramedics

• Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians

• Physician Assistants (PA)

• Respiratory Therapists

• Registered Nurses (RN) and Nurse Practitioners (NP)

• High-performance team dynamics

• Effective communication during resuscitation

• Systems of care

• Recognition and management of cardiopulmonary arrest

• Immediate post–cardiac arrest care

• Acute dysrhythmias

• Stroke

• Acute coronary syndromes (ACS)

• Review of high-quality BLS skills

• Effective chest compressions

• Bag-mask ventilation

• Use of an AED

• Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest

• Recognition and management of peri-arrest conditions (e.g., symptomatic bradycardia)

• Airway management

• ACLS pharmacology

• Management of ACS and stroke

• Communication as both team member and team leader

Course Completion Card

Upon successful completion, students will receive an official AHA ACLS Provider eCard, valid for 2 years.
