Audience
The Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course is an 8-hour training designed to meet California EMSA requirements for licensed childcare providers. Offered through the American Heart Association, this course covers pediatric first aid along with CPR and AED use for adults, children, and infants.

Participants will learn how to recognize and respond to illnesses and injuries in infants and children during the critical first minutes until professional help arrives. This course is ideal for:

• Childcare providers and preschool teachers

• Foster care providers

• Camp counselors and youth program staff

• Coaches of children’s sports teams

• Parents, grandparents, babysitters, and guardians

Course Content / Modules
Students will learn the Four Steps of First Aid (Prevent, Be Safe, Call 911, Act) along with essential pediatric emergency skills, including:

• Identifying and assessing emergencies

• Bleeding control and bandaging

• Allergic reactions and use of an epinephrine pen

• Asthma-related emergencies

• Drowning response

• Bites and stings

• Burns care

• Child CPR & AED use

• Infant CPR

Course Completion Card
Participants will receive an AHA Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course completion card, valid for 2 years.
